All Fenom basketball teams and programs are run and overseen by outstanding coaches Marty Durkin, Kevin Miller, Spencer Ingram and Manny Gago. Coach Marty Durkin, who has spent the last 30 years coaching youth and highschool basketball is the Fenom Fire's head coach and mentor to all of the other already experienced coaches. Our coaching staff believes in teaching overall fundamental skills and learning the game from the ground up.
Coach Spencer Ingram has been working with young players for over 15 years. With a focus on transforming players into dynamic team members with exceptional skills, he creates innovative methods of teaching that reach players of all levels. Coach Spencer has an uncanny ability to break down skills for each player, to help them understand the game and bring each player to a higher level of play. His experience is vast even coaching on a Varsity level. Coach Spencer has a background in working with students who have special needs. This experience brings a level of compassion to his coaching style. He builds players confidence through competitive team building which is essential for learning and excelling at the game of basketball.
Coach Kevin has played and coached basketball beginning at the youth, high school and college level. With a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Adelphi University, Kevin began his coaching profession as the Assistant Student Coach at Adelphi University. For over 24 years Kevin has organized and coached developmental leagues in Australia, the U.S. - specifically the Upward Basketball League in Snellville, Georgia. In Addition, he is well known for coaching in his hometown, New Rochelle, NY, where he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame (Remington Boys & Girls Club). Currently, you can find Kevin working with players Grades 1st through 6th for the Fenom Fire Basketball program.
Manny has been coaching Fenom Fire teams for several seasons. He currently coaches the 3rd Grade Blue team, 4th Grade Black team and 7th Grade Orange team. He also conducts a 7th Grade Basketball Skills clinic once a week.
